 15. SMP Server And MCL TeamSpeak Server Specific Rules

By connecting to the SMP Server or the MCL TeamSpeak Server, you must agree to and adhere to the following:

I. Game play
1. No griefing! Griefing is wide in scope and amounts to causing any form of harm, foul or annoyance to any player or the server at large.
2. Do not modify existing buildings, structures and lands without the owner(s) approval. Ask if you are unsure.
3. Do not encroach on existing buildings, structures and lands. This amounts to building too close to someone else's property. Ask permission to build somewhere if you are unsure.
4. Public chests are available to all. Private chests are private and even opening one is griefing!
5. Public buildings and lands are open to all to visit & tour. Private buildings and lands are private and are strictly off limits.
6. Public farms / harvest areas / xp farms / mob drop farms are free for all to work at and enjoy the bounty of, however you must replenish what you have taken when applicable. IE: replanting crops, breeding animals. Remember to always leave at least 2 of any animal in place so their population may be replenished in that area by breeding.
7. If a creeper gets you and explodes, repair any and all damage if repairs are within your scope of ability to repair. If not, report the damage to staff and / or the affected player who owns the property and / or land.
8. All Minecraft generated villages are public territory and players are free to visit and interact with them. You are prohibited from removing any naturally generated structure block and from killing any non-infected villager or golem. You are prohibited from being in the vicinity of a village during monster spawn (from dusk to dawn) if the village has no perimeter protection and adequate lighting. You may trade with villagers as well as remove and keep any blacksmith chest items. Players are strongly encouraged to assist the village by building a completely sealed defensive wall around the village, lighting the village to cancel monster spawn and expand the village by building more villager homes inside it's fortified area. In the event a village is discovered to contain zombie infected villagers, they are to immediately be cured or killed.
9. Respect "Nature Reserve" areas by refraining from removing or placing any block, item or mob unless removing a mob amounts to defending yourself from monster attacks. You may tour nature reserves as much and as long as you wish but they are only for hiking and admiring. Current nature reserves include: mushroom island biomes
10. Clean all quarry and material harvesting areas to make them appear as natural as possible when you are done with collection. IE: collecting chestfuls of sand from a desert is bound to leave evidence that you were there. Do your best to landscape the area to appear natural as if no one was ever there.
11. Do not possess, collect or place any "forbidden items". Forbidden items include: Mycelium ; any item which is not possible to obtain in survival mode.
12. Use potentially destructive tools such as TNT, flint & steel, fire charges, and lava buckets with extreme care and calculated caution. Any "damage" from such tools must be swiftly cleaned up to reflect the desired result envisioned before using the tool as to avoid leaving a mess or hazard for any prolonged time.
13. Do not destroy any monster spawner. Completely torch / light the area to stop spawn instead. Spawners = XP farms (yes, even spider and poison spider spawners).
14. Do not Recklessly Drop Items of any sort in the instance of leaving a mess.
15. Do not Construct objects that are of obscene, vulgar, rude, or of sexually explicit nature.
16. Do not construct any server resource-heavy objects or areas such as gigantic and complex redstone circuits or enormous mob spawn mechanisms.
17. Any player has the authority at any time to declare and immediately enforce a server-wide "Code Red". A code red requires all logged in players to immediately respond to server emergency and also requires that the code red is truly a serious emergency. Any potential mass destruction event which cannot be quickly contained by a single player constitutes a code red. Such an event may involve but is not limited to an out of control fire or the unintended spread of mycelium. The player declaring code red shall immediately declare "CODE RED!" on both TeamSpeak an in text chat, then get to a safe location clear of but in view of the event, then tap F3 and relay the x, y, z coordinates into chat. There shall be immediate and total "radio silence" on TeamSpeak and in text chat after a code red declaration while everyone waits for the player to relay coordinates. Radio silence ends upon the clear relay of coordinates, but is limited to only relevant chatter concerning the emergency. Staff with Op ability shall use all tools and commands at their disposal to contain the threat including teleporting themselves and others to the event's safe zone coordinates, creative mode, forcing rain in the event of fire, etc. If the event proves to be uncontainable even with Op commands, staff shall immediately stop the server through the host panel and notify TechnoWolf that there is an uncontainable code red event. In such an event, all players will be notified via email when the server is back up and is safe to log in again for normal play. In the event no staff is online and an event is uncontainable, all online players are to log off until further notice and immediately notify staff of the problem.

II. Social Conduct
1. This is a family-friendly server. There shall be NO profanity (on or off camera), ill intent, harassment or otherwise inappropriate conduct through word or action.
2. Be respectful and friendly to others at all times. Verbal or chat attacks are strictly prohibited.
3. If there is a dispute to resolve, contact a Staff person.
4. Do not post or otherwise relay any personal information about other people without their express consent.
5. Do not impersonate any Staff member.
6. Do not make unsolicited or inappropriate offers, advertisements or proposals for goods, services or other commercial activities that are not related to the SMP Server. This includes farming the MCL server's user base to go play on another server instead.
7. Do not spam or troll chat in game for any reason such as frequent nonsense chat unrelated to game play. Occasional goofiness is encouraged. Be yourself!
8. Do not nag any logged-in player to leave the MCL server(s) to go do something else instead. Ask only once, and no means no.
9. Do not enforce rules upon other players -giving unauthorized direction.
10. Do not disobey direction or question direction by Staff. You may of course decline casual staff requests to go do something as long as the staff request is not a "direct order". If you are unsure if the staff request is a direct order, just ask. Most of the time, it's just casual unless something serious is going on and they require the crew's help.
11. Do not continuously provoke Staff with questions, if they ask you to leave them alone, listen to them.
12. Do not nag Staff for any cheat items or to issue any "cheat" related server command function to the server or to your player's allowed commands. Ask once (in certain rare situations) and no means no!
13. You may mention your interest in being on the Staff but do not beg, plea, or otherwise nag Staff about it thereafter. "Yes" is yes, "no" is no and "maybe later" is maybe later.
14. Do not repeatedly ask or nag Staff about adding server plug-ins or software features. You may mention your fondness of certain plug-ins, suggest and discuss them but do not beg or plea to have any installed, ask for a list of currently used plug-ins, ask for details of settings used on server, or otherwise nag Staff about it. "Yes" is yes, "no" is no and "maybe later" is maybe later.
15. Do not film, broadcast, stream or otherwise record any video and / or audio of the MCL Minecraft server or TeamSpeak server unless you have informed all logged in players of your intent to go public or record and have the unanimous consent of all logged in players to do so. If while recording any unaware player logs in to the MC server or Teamspeak server, they are to be immediately informed that you are recording a video / audio. You are then free to publish MCL server recordings and monetize them (such as with YouTube adsense) but you must mention in your video description that it was filmed at the Server. You are prohibited from making any production to appear as if it is an "official" MCL production created by MCL's owner(s). If you wish to use the MCL logo in your production, ask TechnoWolf for permission first. Odds are he'll be glad to oblige.
16. You are prohibited from impersonating official MCL staff or owner(s) in all social media. This includes but is not limited to starting an "official" MCL facebook, google+, twitter or other account. If you wish to create an MCL fan account somewhere, you may do so but it must clearly state that it is a fan created page and that "Minecraft Lab (MCL) is Copyright © 2010-2017 and is not affiliated with {your page/profile name}".

III. Security
1. Do not interfere with any security-related features of the servers.
2. All hacks and x-ray tools are strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to using exploits such item/block duplication glitches.
3. Do not conspire or fabricate any plan against the well-being and integrity of the servers.
4. Do not use, or encourage others to use the servers for any illegal purpose.
5. Do not release or distribute any information about the MCL servers, including but not limited to IP address access information, passwords, white-listed players, banned players, events and discussions on the server(s), etc. without Staff consent.

IV. User Accounts
1. Upon initial white-list approval, you have a period of 7 days to log into the server before your account is removed from the white-list.
2. Otherwise active players will be removed from the white-list when they have not logged in for more than 14 days. If you foresee an instance when you will be unable to login for an extended period of time, notify a staff person in advance with a basic explanation and dates of your leave in order to be exempted from this rule. You are not required to disclose your business, as it's not our business. Simply stating that you have private matters to attend to along with estimated dates of leave is enough and is much appreciated. We do care about our crew, so if you care to elaborate we can put you in prayer if any need arises!
3. Each individual player is allowed to have only one active Minecraft IGN white-listed at any time. This rule does not apply if you have separate, multiple people in your household active on the server. Some members like to have one main player account and one filming account simultaneously logged in in order to film something like a castle build in time-lapse video. This is permissible, but please enquire with staff and explain yourself so we can whitelist your filming account, and keep records.

V. Agreement and Penalties
1. Ignorance of the rules does not under any circumstance constitute innocence! If you are unsure of anything at all, ask a staff member before acting in order to avoid being banned.
2. Do not engage in any other conduct prohibited by Staff and or Rules.
3. By connecting to any MCL server,, or the MinecraftLabDotCom YouTube channel, you acknowledge your full understanding and agreement to all these rules, as well as the official " Terms Of Use Agreement" found HERE.
4. Any member who is either involved in or intending to perform an act which is against server rules or the " Terms Of Use Agreement" will be immediately and permanently Creeper Head BANNED Creeper Head without warning, explanation or further communication! Anyone who has played on our servers knows we are a very tight, mature, respectful, benevolent "best friends" type of community. We are extremely serious about this, but we are also careful to not wrongly ban. If you get banned, know that it is rare, but does happen occasionally to bad creepy people. It is because you have undoubtedly, willfully and with malevolent intent broken a rule in an bad way. Good riddance! Do not attempt to come back... Ever.
